When I started out publishing my erotic stories I priced them at .99 centsĀ each which left me .35 cents a story. In March of last year I raised the prices on my stories to 2.99 which left me an average of 2.00 a story. The net effect was I sold less copies and made more royalties.
This year I’m going to try something different. Trying to strike the balance between the two price points. So across all of my sales channels my single stories are .99 or 1.50. I have kept the collection of stores at 4.99.
Sales numbers to follow as always.

This is really interesting, thanks for sharing. I am just about to publish my first two short stories so am looking for any advice on price/sales channels etc… I wonder if you would mind sharing your experiences of marketing, as this is where I am not sure… is it enough to just make the books available on kindle etc and wait for them to sell? Do you find this works? DO you actively seek reviews? Does this help? Thank you!!

I don’t think just publishing a story is enough. So many choices for readers, blogging, twitter, discussion groups are the main opportunities.
It’s part good writing, part timing, part self promotion
